A camera mounted on a city bus records potholes, road cracks and how full the bins are along its route. Every detection appears on a map, so city departments can see where to act.
Street inspections are usually done by hand: an inspector drives out, looks around and writes it down. CityScanner gives that job to a bus that already drives the same streets several times a day.
The camera films the road and the sidewalk, and a model finds potholes, cracks and bins in every frame. Each detection comes with coordinates, a timestamp and a photo. The portal shows what changed since the last trip, which districts collect the most problems, and what has been fixed.
How it works
Camera on the bus
The bus runs its usual route while the camera records the road and the sidewalk.
Detection
A model finds potholes, cracks and bins in the footage and rates their condition.
Portal
Each detection appears on the city portal with its location and a photo.
Response
Departments see where the city needs work, then check the result on the next trip.
